Marc ‘fivel’ Melkie could not figure out for the life of him, at the sage age of 7 years old, why what he saw through the little window of his father’s compact Kodak disc film was not what he intended capture. Let alone, not in any way representing how his brain was took in the scene. While this jump point would not be recognized for may years for the catalyst it was, this way point sparked a new curiosity of the beauty in fundamentals of how our natural world works and the art it becomes through its form. From the heavens above to human function and capabilities, you can find Marc anywhere from ubran streets, to his garage studio, even all the way out in search for dark skies. Marc resides currently in central Texas with his wife, two daughters, two dachshunds, one Great Pyrenees… did he say fish, too??

Landscapes and views of the immediate world around us come in hand in hand in the search for dark skies. A perk with being a Milky Way hunter. It was specifically a picture of a babbling creek that sparked both the confusion and wonder of light and physics. All this while innately knowing the beauty in it all.

However, one cannot forget to look down, as well. You might miss something even more beautiful (that’s Marc’s daughter in an iconic Texas tradition of posing for a portrait in the bluebonnets every spring).
